Cheers to a NEW YEAR!!!

Wow, 2014! You were an amazing year. So much to be thankful for as I reflect on all the highlights... my precious daughter Ella was born, Parker turned 5 and absolutely loves kindergarten, my husband got a new job that he enjoys, my maternity leave was stress-free, my first graders this year are the sweetest bunch of kids, and much, much more!

I'm excited for what 2015 has in store! Looking forward to getting fit and healthy{starting Weight Watchers tomorrow}, staying organized {this is a goal EVERY year}, spending lots of time with friends and family, blogging and creating, and keeping a "blessed not stressed" attitude at home/school.

To kick off the new year, I'm having a sale in my TpT shop! Grab what you need in 2015 for 20% off today through Friday! Even my already discounted bundled resources are on sale. Just click on the button below to head to my store!

Freebie Math Activities for the Holidays!

It's been a busy few weeks! After being out on maternity leave for 3 months, I returned back to my sweet class. Not going to lie...it was HARD leaving my baby girl, but it's getting easier every day. I've loved getting to see my students, catch up on their progress, and TEACH! I really missed it. Yes, sometimes being in the classroom is just pure craziness, but mostly I love the challenge and excitement of teaching little ones and being a part of public education.
With the holiday buzz that is currently taking over my classroom, I have been trying to incorporate movement as much as possible into my lesson plans. Since we are learning about solving addition and subtraction equations, I made a couple of holiday themed Scoot games to use during math workshop. My students loved them! They were fun, but also a great formative assessment to see how everyone was doing with addition/subtraction facts, mental math, and applying strategies.

The Dollar Tree is one of my favorite places to shop this time of year! Last week, I found these adorable Santa and Snowmen candy holders that I turned into dice shakers. They made the cutest addition and subtraction math stations! Maybe your Dollar Tree has them, too! If so, you can download the recording sheet I used to go with them here

Hope you enjoy these activities!
Happy Holidays!

Baby Ella turned 2 months old today! I can't believe it.
Time needs to slow down.
Ella and I visited my sweet first graders yesterday. It was their first time getting to see Ella face to face. It melted my heart seeing how excited they got when they saw her. I just love them!

Snuggles and naps make everything better!

Hope you have a blessed weekend!

Meet Ella

Hey Friends! Crazy that the last time I posted here was on Ella's due date! I remember hoping that Currently post would somehow magically induce labor. It didn't. She stayed put until her grand entrance into the world on September 7th at 12:55 am. We're so in love with our sweet baby girl and excited for y'all to finally get a proper introduction!
So Blessed.
As many of you know, mommyhood with a new baby is very, very  busy. If you don't see me posting much, please know that I'm most likely snuggling/playing with my two babies, changing diapers, nursing, taking a much needed nap, etc. and that I WILL be back when things settle down a bit. For now, I just want to savor these precious moments..even the dirty diapers, 3am feedings, sibling rivalry, spit up ones. Life just goes by too fast, you know?!?

With that said, I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said that I didn't miss being in the classroom. What can I say?? Teaching is just in my blood. To get my teacher fix while on maternity leave, I plan to create a few new things to add to my TpT shop that I'm excited about! More on that later...Baby Ella is calling for her mama:) Before I go, I want to thank y'all so much for all of your love and support!! You're the best!!
XOXO

Currently!

I'm linking up with Farley today for some Currently fun!

Listening: While I'm blogging, my sweet hubs is usually sitting right next to me watching television. Right now, he's as happy as can be getting his ESPN fix.

Loving: Who doesn't love a long 3 day weekend with family?!? We haven't done much, but it's been nice to just slow down. We've enjoyed soccer practice, church, a yummy hibachi lunch, coloring, sleeping in, and just relaxing as a family of 3!
It won't be long before we're a family of 4:)

Thinking: When will Baby Ella arrive? Today's her due date and we're still waiting for her debut! I guess she wants to choose her own birthday. One thing I know for sure is that we'll be meeting our new addition SOON!

Wanting: To meet my DAUGHTER!!! I'm so excited!!!

Needing: A long massage. Like right now. Please and thank you.

3 Trips..
1. Turks & Caicos
2. Hawaii
3. Cayman Islands
All three look so beautiful and relaxing- must haves for vacation spots!

Throwback: My Classroom

Since I'm expecting my little girl any day now, I decided not to even think about changing my classroom decor this year. I mean, I couldn't even move my desks around, so it made sense. Luckily, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my classroom right now and was so happy to keep everything the same!! Check out the post from last year below for a sneak peek into my room and lots of freebie downloads!
_____________________________________________________________

Hey y'all!! I'm joining the fun over at Blog Hoppin' to show you my little home away from home! This year, I decided to change my classroom theme to primary/rainbow colors with a mix of my two favorite patterns- polka dots and chevron. I really love how it's turned out!
A lot of the decor in my room is from my Editable Keep Calm & Chevron decor packet. The desk caddies are from Really Good Stuff. I absolutely love them because they don't take up a lot of precious desk space.
Meet my new rug. Isn't it beautiful?!!
I bought it from Amazon {here}....Unfortunately, I didn't get away with hiding the cost from my hubby...*sigh*

My chevron alphabet and number posters add an educational splash of color above my whiteboard/SmartBoard!

My word wall is looking pretty wordless right now, but it won't be long before that changes! Download the decorative letters that spell out "word wall" and "anchor charts" {here}!
I made "I can" posters to describe each stage of the writing process. And they match my dots on black border, which makes me a very happy teacher. I'm planning to display student created examples under the posters for each stage. You can check out the writing process posters {here}!

The adorable pencil is a freebie from my friend, Lindsey over at the Teacher Wife!
Here's my Daily 5 board...we haven't started rotations yet, so the posters are blankety blank at the moment....gotta build our stamina and learn those procedures/routines first!! You can grab my Daily 5 cards for free {here}.

These are my book baskets! I bought the white magazine files on Amazon and jazzed them up with polka dotted labels!!
Just for fun and because it's cute, I made a READ banner. You can download it {here} to make one for your room!!
My biggest summer project was organizing my library! Of course, I had to make polka dot library labels to go along with it. You can check them out {here}!
I'm super blessed to have a parapro who can sew like a pro!! Her amazingness made me curtains this summer!!! I die.
Behind my reading table, I made mini versions {due to lack of wall space} of the Beanie Baby inspired reading strategies. You can download them for free {here}!
My Common Core Essential Question posters are located at the front of the room on my magnetic whiteboard. I just take them on and off with magnets!! Easy Peasy!
I'm so excited about my new bucket filler space!! Compliments in my room are going to be flowing in style this year!! My buckets were made using Cheryl from Primary Graffiti's editable bucket filler pack , which is awesome!!! Grab the "Be a Bucket Filler" poster for free {here}!

My goal every year is to get organized. With the help of my chevron supply labels and $1 Big Lots tubs, I'm feeling pretty darn organized. I do need to alphabetize these suckers though, which is on my to-do list tomorrow!! Hello, Type A personality!!
Every morning, my kiddos check their Daily folders {folder that goes from school to home} for notes, money, or homework. I have these plastic drawers for them to turn everything in to me. If you like these chevron labels, you can grab a copy {here}!

My little pencil cups got a nice makeover, too... I bought the chevron cups at Wal-Mart {99 cents}! You can download the pencil cup labels {here}!

Last, but not least...brain kisses. I won't tell you how many I've had this week. I picked up the glass jar from the beloved Hobby Lobby {$4.99}. Of course, the label I made is {here} for you to download!
